Never let me go
Her horse came to a sudden halt.
They were in the middle of a forest. The forest he ought to live in.
Had her horse noticed something she didn’t? She looked around. Cautious, anxious even.
Something rustled behind the dozens of trees surrounding them. Her heart skipped a beat. She feared him. She had always feared him. There was a snapping sound. A branch breaking under someones shoe. He had arrived. Like he said he would.
As he stepped from the row of trees to her left she stopped breathing. He was even more beautiful than the last time they met. His eyes saw right through her, his gaze leaving a burning mark on her soul. Yes, she was afraid of him. Mostly, though she feared the power he had over her. There was no doubt that this man would either be her way to everlasting happiness or her downfall and destruction.
